Friendly staff, excellent food and great service. Very kid friendly with colouring books and crayons. Nice view of the river and a dock to lay on. Very nice looking outdoor space. Lots of history to this place and it shows. Very comfy spot and this place has a nice menu. Recommend this place and will be back for lunch on our way through.
Staff was friendly however, we booked our room 4 months in advance and asked for an updated room with lake view. We received the lake view but got a run down room that appeared disgusting to include other hair from other people in the sheets and dirt on the beds. The staff never changed sheets and knew we arrived in town hours prior to getting into the room. With understanding that check in was at two our room was still not ready. Prior to arriving we explained we had no problem Paying for the most expensive room for updated and cleanliness. Even after having them clean the room a second time dirt was still left on one of the sheets. Completely no consideration due to the fact that they were booked completely and did not care.
I didn't stay in this Motel, but I have eaten in the restaurant. One thing I can say, I had fish and chips and I'll put a 4 star for the fish, because the coating is one of the best I have ever eaten (not thick/saggy/oily/doughy) it was thin/crunchy and not salty. The soup is also good and tasty.
Food was great but the beds need to be replaced. I was thinking about laying on the floor at around 1 am this morning thought it might be softer. Need to see my Chiropractor today.
We stayed in the 60's, the row of motel rooms facing the river. It's good for a motel, a little musty, and for only two guests they put us beside each other - perhaps would have been nicer to be on the other end or at least a few rooms away. A bit musty smelling (old carpet, windows don't open) but leave the door open and it airs out nicely. Very clean, excellent tasting water, and WHAT a LOVELY view! I had a great swim in the morning. They charge more per person, and arrange ahead if you're going to be checking in after 9 pm.
