Great place to sit and relax while enjoying the splendour if the Ottawa Valley
For a moment I felt as if I were in BC. Small, intimate park with some benches facing the marina and the mountains across in Quebec, keep an eye out for the 3 crosses on the mountain top. It's also a 5 minute walk from the Moon cafe and the Matawa museum is also located here. A beautiful part of the northern Ontario gateway.
Explorer's Point Park in Mattawa is a very nice place to look at the Ottawa River. There is a quay, an old railway bridge, a regular bridge and a lot of beautiful old buildings and a church around. On the other side of the park, you can find a nice little war memorial.
An amazing spot for relaxing with family and friends. Beautiful scenery and a great spot to take photos.
This park is among my favorite places to visit. Breathtakingly beautiful scenery. The river and the mountains so close, you can literally reach out and touch them. Ask a local about the story of the three white crosses, which are visible on the side of a mountain. We love Mattawa and we look forward to visiting and spending some time at Explorer's Point Park, every year, at least one time.
